This is a no frills cleaner and is light weight to lift but don’t let that fool you this thing is an animal of a beast on cleaning. It lifts the pile of thecarpet and deep cleans better than any other vacuum I have ever used. After I used it four times the bag was about 1/2 full so I decidedto put on a new bag. And that is where my problem started. When I bought this vacuum I also bought a pack of 25 extra bags. And notknowing that all oreck bags were not the same. The ones I ordered were blue and was labeled that they would fit my commercial vacuum. However the bag that came with the vacuum was light green when I changed it with one of the blue ones I instantly lost 1/2 of it’s suction.I thought some thing had clogged the system after I checked every thing for a restriction and found nothing. That’s when I dug deeper into thepart number of the original green bag. What I found it was hypo allergenic and they sell them on AmazonFor a pack of 25 their part number is PK800025DW…. (wright this number down!!!) Make sure they have DW on the end of their part numberand they are light green!!!So I ordered a pack of them after I installed one of them the suction returned like it was when it was new. I will be returning those bluebags. Amazon should state what bags that work best with the vacuums instead of offering a discount on a pile of bags that doesn’twork…. So save a headache and get the right bags to start with. Also I checked on the net and found several sites that sell any part you will ever need to keep your oreck vacuum repaired. This is a big plus if you are thinking of buying them to use in the lodging business or other commercial use.

We are extremely disappointed in this product. My wife and I bought this intending to support an American company and buy an American-made product. We owned this vacuum for less than 3 months when it burned up a circuit board when my wife was vacuuming a hardwood floor. We diagnosed the problem ourselves and contacted Oreck to see if we could get a replacement circuit board. We got a replacement circuit board from an authorized repair shop and changed it out. The vacuum ran for less than 10 minutes before it burned out again. We took the vacuum back to the authorized repair shop and they replaced the circuit board AND the motor under warranty. Again, the vacuum ran at home for less than 10 minutes before it burned out again. This is not a problem with the electrical service in our home. I am an automotive technician with electrical certifications, so I know how this stuff works. Our home is a new construction and I have verified the voltage and hertz with a Fluke 115 multi-meter. The authorized repair shop advised that they could do nothing further and there appeared to be other problems with the vacuum that they couldn’t diagnose, and to contact Oreck directly. We contacted Oreck and were advised via email that they could not issue a refund for the product since we bought it on Amazon. Now we don’t have an option to file for a refund on Amazon either. We are very disappointed with this vacuum that we paid a decent amount of money for, only for it to quit working after a few months.

I recently spent entirely too much time researching price versus performance of vacuum cleaners after being tired of spending $200 at big box stores and having to replace units every 2-4 years. I was on a mission. Admittedly, I had previously never bothered to shop around because I thought all vacuum cleaners were the same. I was wrong.I was immediately delighted to read reviews on here detailing how Orecks Have lasted several years, including the span of 25 years. Before doing this research, I was unaware that it was possible to buy commercial grade vacuum cleaners without buying in bulk. The endurobelt was also a factor in my purchase, as this is usually the first component to fail. Five years on a belt before failing is unheard of, and the price difference between units without it was only about $30. No brainer.I never thought I would say this, but vacuuming using this unit was a pleasure! It is super light. It is actually easier to use than previous models that had all the bells and whistles as well as manually-adjustable height. You do not need the extra weight of headlights. Just use room lights.I found myself never using attachments on previous vacuum cleaners. They had added extra weight and also routed the vacuum power such that suction was diminished. This is not the case with this unit. It was able to effortlessly pick up dirt better than any other unit I have ever used.Just as salient: using filter bags. My previous units were bagless models, and I hated them. Emptying them resulted in Dust and particles getting everywhere. Cleaning the container was a chore because debris got stuck in tight spaces, which meant reaching in with my hand and touching God knows what.Since the replacement bags average between $1-2 each, are easy to replace, non-messy, and more hygienic, I will not being going back to bagless. My only complaint is the awkward extension cord. The length is utterly fantastic, as is the ability to disconnect from the unit. However, A better winding mechanism or retraction capability would have made this already great product even more stellar. The numerous hours I had spent tracking down this model were well worth the effort.

I purchased this vacuum to replace our 25 year old Oreck that finally failed after years of service. This new model is basically the same but has a long life belt, a carrying handle, a detachable 40 foot cord and a safety shut off to protect the motor if the roller brush gets jammed on a sock or a carpet fringe.. It works on carpets and hard surfaces and picks up everything without blowing dust back into the room. Hepa filter bags are available if you need them. It’s light weight and goes under furniture. It’s a classic and has earned its reputation for commercial use in hotels. At $238 Canadian and free delivery it’s a bargain.Highly recommended.

Bought this for my retail store and love the suction, the only downfall is how loud it is and there is no attachments to get under fixtures and near the baseboards.

I’ve been using the Oreck Commercial for about a month now and it is without doubt the best vacuum cleaner I’ver ever used. Lightweight and small enough to get into tight spots but it really packs a punch. I’m impressed with the suction power.
