Product Features Smooth brushed stainless housing with polished chrome and black accents Custom control: 6-setting browning dials, dual reheat, defrost and bagel buttons with LED indicators 1-1/2-inch wide toasting slots Extra-lift carriage lever Slide-out crumb tray Convenient cord wrap Instruction book Limited 3-year warranty Toasting Tips Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying of the bread.
Therefore, differences in moisture level from one bread to another can result in varying toasting times.
For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would.
For very fresh bread or whole wheat bread, use a higher setting than normal.
Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English muffins) will require a higher toast setting.
Thickly cut pieces of bread (including bagels) will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur.
Very thick pieces may require two cycles. Cleaning and Maintenance Always allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleansers.
Simply wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Apply any cleansing agent to a cloth, not to the toaster, before cleaning.
To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs. Wipe clean and replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside down and gently shake.
Never insert any hard or sharp instruments into the slot, as this could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster. Use the cord storage cleats on the underside of the toaster

This is a review for Cuisinart CPT-180 Metal Classic 4-Slice Toaster, Brushed Stainless. This toaster has been in daily service for three years and has performed well. It’s a moderately priced appliance so I don’t expect perfection, but this unit has come pretty close. The bagel setting heats the entire bagel, not just the exterior like other toasters with bagel settings. The reheat button comes in handy, especially when I space out – which happens a little more often these days 😉 There are lots of toasters that claim to have a retro look but this is unique in it’s old school feel. With periodic maintenance (emptying the crumb trays, using a toothbrush to clean the elements, etc.) this is a great investment.Note: I’m sorry to hear about some of the problems reported in other reviews. If it were me, I’d send the unit back in a New York second because Cuisinart needs the feedback, and more than that, the reviewers need a toaster they can count on.If you feel this review was helpful, please check “yes” below. Thanks and stay toasted!

As with any Cuisinart appliance the fit and finish is top shelf. It feels good in the hand and the pop up spring is strong. The cord could be longer but that is simply the result of big brother watching out for the careless and stupid…short cord equals less possibility of an accident and less potential liability for the manufacturer ……to many lawyers. My complaint with this toaster is simply this, the adjustable dial goes from 1 to 6, at 4.5 and using conventional white bread, standard thickness the toaster produces perfect toast, golden brown, slightly crunchy and evenly toasted. However when toasting rye toast I found it only “warms” the bread…at 6 it is still well under toasted…when engaging the “bagel” mode it does a good job. With Thomas English Muffins at the highest setting, with “Bagel” selected it is STILL not toasted well…so my question is what the hell are settings 1-4 for?!?! Warming mittens? It is calibrated to do what? Until now I can say that I have never been disappointed with a Cuisinart appliance and we have a few but this toaster is a disappointment and I would not recommend it.

BEWARE: Thought I was upgrading my much cheaper Black and Decker 4 slice toaster that I got 3 years out of before one side burned out. Went with this Amazon recommended Cuisinart CPT180. We especially want evenly toasted bread over all other features.Well – this one seemed OK for 2 months, then last week it stopped evenly toasting – the inside element now runs at about half the heat so one side of the toast is light, and the other is darker. I called the Cuisinart customer service line and after waiting 15 minutes I hung up. Disgusted with Cuisinart, I checked all the toaster reviews, and ordered an Oster 4 slice toaster that got great reviews (better than this Cuisinart) and for $20 less!I doubt if Cuisinart will ever answer their phone, so this one goes into the spare toaster bin and we will report back on the Oster. If it outlasts this Cuisinart, I will report back. Meantime, read the reviews on the Oster – at least on paper it is better and cheaper.

The Cuisinart CPT-180 Metal Classic 4-Slice Toaster, Brushed Stainless is the best toaster that I found after significant research on Amazon and other website, and in stores like BestBuy and Bed, Bath & Beyond.- First, and most importantly, it toasts properly – evenly and without drying out the bread. I tried also Kenmore Elite 76774 4-Slice Auto-Lift Long Slot Toaster in Stainless Steel but I returned it because it was drying out the toast too much and it was huge, taking up a lot of countertop space.- Not too big – never understand why some toasters are as big as a toaster oven or a small microwave… It’s a simple appliance. The CuisineArt toaster is just the right size.- Beautifully designed with some retro elements- Affordable mid range price – practically 2-3 times cheaper than the expensive non-professional toasters, like Breville, etc.NOTE: I had the toaster for less than a week. I cannot comment on the product reliability or CuisineArt’s customer support quality. Future will tell… 🙂

It replaced one that quit browning. We like darker toast, and this new one has up to #6 on settings. One can insert frozen bread for there is a selection to indicated you are using frozen bread. A big thing for me, is that when the lever is depressed to begin toasting, it is securely in place. Some toasters in the past would release and have to be re-pressed. When the toast is done, a definte click can be heard. The lever can be raised slightly to retrieve toast that is shallower. Sound like an ad, but I am so happy with something we use daily.

Extremely disappointed in this toaster. Even on the highest setting it does not really “toast”, it just makes warm bread. I like my toast a bit dark and I have to go through two cycles at the #4 setting (of 5) to get it brown. Why does it seem the most expensive, name brand toasters are the worst?

I just received this toaster.1. The cord does not stay put through the metal holder on the bottom. The heat from the bottom of the toaster touching the cord could start a fire.2. I plugged it in and turned on both sides. There was a horrible smell of burning plastic coming from it.3. I cancelled both sides that were heating. Then, I accidentally touched the outside of the toaster. It was blazing hot.4. Now I know why the instructions said not to put the toaster under a cabinet and to unplug it after use. Other toasters don’t have those warnings.5. I will not return it because it is clearly defective and if it is restocked, it could burn down a house.6. I have read other reviews here and I am really concerned about these toasters that break down so quickly. They could be a fire hazard.

This is a toaster and it toasts my bread. That is all. It’s not more special than any other toaster. This is a bit overpriced for what it does, if I could go back, I would have bought something a lot cheaper. But the wife is happy, so there’s that.

I would have given this toaster a perfect rating, starting with its fast delivery. It’s just that it simply does not toast equally. I mean, there’s a significant diffence on each side of the toasts, and this for both units (Left and Right sides). I am not too certain I will be keepting it as long as my previous one (>25yrs).

A disappointing successor to an otherwise historically successful product line. Our previous Cuisinart toaster was very well made, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Regrettably, those standards have not been met as far as this product is concerned. The controls are flimsy and the casing is rather thin, unlike our previous model which was sturdy and durable, with firm controls. In fact, I am in the process of attempting to repair the spring in the lever of our previous model in order to continue using it and if such is the case, this new toaster will likely be either donated or recycled.

I had been looking for the impossible apparently, a fast affordable toaster, for several years. I tried a bunch, even some over 100$.This one, on special around 70$CAN, looks great and toasts very fast. Remains to be seen how durable it will be but it does carry a 3 year warranty.Bought a second one a few weeks for someone else, I liked it so much.

This is the best toaster I have owned in 57+ years.I looked at the rating and could not believe that they would rate this as the best and the price was exceptionally reasonable. In use, I would rate every function as 110%.Thank you Amazon

It doesn’t toast consistently. Always more burned on the lower part than top part. I thought paying a bit more I would get a higher quality product. Everything else works fine but so annoying that half my toast is good and other half is burned or not toasted enough.

Best toaster we’ve tried. Fast and even toasting. Easy to use. We’ve tried many toasters over the past few years (after our old toaster called it quits) and this one had fantastic reviews and I would agree.
