This oven does a good job with toasting. It’s so-so at broiling. Have not used it for baking.I down rated it because shortly after using it all the button labels began to rub off.Now I can’t read them at all. Called customer service and agent said she never heard of this problem before and the only option was to have the unit replaced, However, I had to pay shipping. “We don’t pay for shipping at all.” is the exact quote. It’s not worth my trouble; the new unit will likely do the same thing. Time for my trusty Dymo labeler.Nice woman, but poor policy.

This is a very good toaster oven with very poor quality control. I have owned other Cuisinart toaster ovens in the past andhave always been impressed with their quality. Although this one functions very good, the quality control is lacking. Withinless than a week of moderate daily usage, the lettering on the function keys began to rub off (see photo). Normally, I wouldhave immediately returned an item so cheaply designed, but I really needed a new toaster oven and this one is very quietwhen using the convection function and cooks everything I’ve put into it very nicely. I had previously purchased and returneda Breville B0V845BSS that was very loud with convection and had a constant electrical burning smell. I decided to keep thisoven and have used a label maker with clear tape and black lettering to replace the rubbed off lettering. It looks pretty goodbut I’m still disappointed that I had to do it. It also makes me wonder how long this will last since the quality control was sopoor. Only time will tell…

Return window closed on May 31, 2017 and the oven started malfunctioning June 2. I did not mind that the buttons for the controls wiped off in the first few days. The reviews had prepared me for that. Tonight I set the oven for 425 and pressed start. It read “READY” immediately. I turned it off and tried again several times – even unplugged it, opened the door, waited a few minutes, reset everything and tried again. Still read “READY” immediately and started timer count down. There was no preheating as it had always done until today. I decided to bake the 2 potatoes anyway so I used an oven thermometer to check the temps. Set oven for 425 but thermometer gradually rose to 450.Maybe this oven is just a lemon because I own a lot of products from Cuisinart and have always been very pleased. I purchased the Cuisinart TOB-175 from Amazon Feb 10 2004 and it is still going strong today in our second home. I purchased the TOB -195 April 4 2009 and the fan started making strange noise. Still worked fine but decided that maybe I should replace it with this Cuisinart TOB-260N1. Luckily I still have my old TOB-195 in the basement as I was going to take it to Goodwill on my next trip – glad I hadn’t donated it yet – guess I’ll start using it again for the time being. I am so disappointed as I was expecting so much better from Cuisinart. Can anyone suggest the best way to handle this now?

My advice to any potential purchasers: Do Not Buy Under Any Circumstances. The oven door does not close completely. The build quality is extremely poor. On first use, the oven kept heating and heating – never reaching the required temperature. The unit and cord became extremely hot and blew out the fuses in the apartment. The cord and wall plug were extremely hot – and I narrowly missed a fire/disaster. I’m returning the product to Amazon for a refund. Please note the dangerous consequences of that ill fitting door that other reviewers have mentioned.(There’s no option other than to put one star here for a review, of course)

Love these convection mini ovens. Forget the toaster part I have a toaster. These are great for cooking, roasting or broiling without having to heat the kitchen up.Had a Cuisinart TOB195 that had been used heavily for over a decade. It was still purring along just looking the worse for wear so I wanted to replace it.Looked at the Cuisinart and the Breville. Both were about the same price and had both good and bad reviews. The Cuisinart came with a pizza stone and eureka! a light. Well it also had a three year warranty versus a one year. Usually an indicator of maybe better quality as the manufacturer is willing to put their money where their mouth is so to say. Plus have always had dependable service from all my Cuisinart appliances. Was mulling it over and Amazon lowered the price to $153. Time to pull the trigger. It came in and sure enough the often mentioned gap was there – darn. But got to looking and there are spacers that prevent the door from closing enough to make contact with the body. Hmmm.Next let’s cook with it. Warm up is a little longer than the smaller 195 but love the extra room and the two racks. So let’s get tp cooking. Does great. Chicken fingers, wings, pork chops etc. all did as well or better than the other oven and this one is quitter at convection.I was still curious about the gap. Holding my hand just above the door and I could not feel any heat escaping So let’s get out my infra red thermometer. Measuring at the convection fan 424 degrees when set on 425. All following readings were within a narrow range. Probably better than most larger range ovens. So the gap does not affect cooking but why? Then it hit me. There have been problems with the glass door burning someone and in some cases cracking. So measured the glass corner and it was just over 160 degrees while the oven was at 425. 265 degrees difference. The outside of the door at the hottest spot was 107 coolest 97. Had the door been in direct contact it would have been much higher. So the gap so many have complained about is a pretty good idea saving some potential singed fingers. The next biggest complaint was the cooking time began when the oven reached the set temperature and you had to be there when it did. The cooking time and temperature are both bully adjustable at any time. Miss the start and you can adjust right before you put the food in.Speaking of warming up when you use the pizza setting it takes some time to heat up as the oven has the pizza stone warm up set in.Also complaints of the door using hooks rather than a magnet. Don’t know; all the cooking I have done the rack is not high enough to catch. Probably on the Breville would not be high enough for the magnet to catch. Not too wild about the controls compared to the old 195 but it seems like most of the ovens use the same set-up. This one does have a lot of options that I may or may not use late.Happy with the purchase and only gave 4 stars because am not sure of long term reliability. But I know I am good for at least three years.
