Just received these, and I am blown away by the optical quality! Have used multiple binoculars thru out a lifetime of birding, from top of the line (Swaros, Zeiss, etc.), to the inexpensive. And I must say these focus lightening fast and the clarity is outstanding! Ergonomically they are easy to handle and quite smaller than I expected for a pair of 12×50 binoculars. Which is a bonus as I get older. These are a keeper!

This review is for the 9×33 model: I bought this pair of binoculars for my husband and was heavily influenced by BestBinocularReviews.com where it was the 2013 Winner for Best Safari & Travel Binocular. We will be using them primarily for camping and travel. I was shopping for a small to mid-sized pair of bins, and the major features on these that impressed us and that my husband is happy about: 1) open-bridge center for easy gripping and handling 2) high quality metal eye cup housing that works very smoothly (area of common problems) 3) Weight of 20oz and size of 5.4×4.9 which is mid-range size and sufficiently compact 4) 9 magnification which gives a little more magnification than the 8, therefore gives a slightly more detailed view 4) very nice feel and balance to them with very little hand shake 5) Field of View is very good at 378 ft at 1000 yds. 6) Overall quality and build is very impressive, with hard rubberized finish and a general feel of high end binoculars.

I find there is a distinct sweet spot in the view and around that it gets very soft. Glare handling is ok for this price-point.The focuser is soft and sloppy, with noticeable wiggle when reversing directions. It sometimes takes a bit of twiddling to get the focus you want.I am going to return them and try the Opticron Discovery 7×42. About the same price, and I’ve heard it’s a high quality build but I have not personally tried it yet.

I’m new to Binos, but not to optics. i.e. I know a superior camera lens and so on. These Celestrons are compact and are fit well in the hand, so to speak. This is actually a terrific price (350) for these Binoculars at this time. I paid about 50 more when I picked up mine, just about 2 months ago from a different online vendor. Oh well my bad. I’m still very happy with them. For all the eyeglass wearers out there…. I’m a minus 5.25 eyeglass wearer. I can simply take my glasses off and there is enough range in focusing from infinity to the tip of my nose. Impressive, to me. Since I hate wearing glasses while using binoculars. Some of you may disagree. 12X50 seems like a happy mid-ground power versus size/weight to me. Give them a try, especially at this price, I give them a solid thumbs-up. Edit: ok, “tip of my nose” is exaggeration. About 10 feet is more accurate. Regardless, these are a neat compact pair of binos. I’m using a dedicated Pelican 1170 case. They pair up well. Love the size of these things. Cheers, GW

I have two pairs of inexpensive, small, binoculars. The quality of the optics is like night and day. I have used them for both terrestrial and astronomical viewing and the views are clear and bright. The only drawback is they are bigger and heavier and therefore less portable (take up a lot more space in a backpack) than my other binoculars.

I should preface this review by stating that this is the first decent pair of bins I’ve ever owned so I’m no expert; that said I’ve been a hunter my whole life and own a number of high end rifle scopes – Leica etc.so I can appreciate good optics.I bought these binoculars specifically as they seemed to be a good compromise between portability/performance and price and I am delighted with them. Image quality is sharp and I didn’t notice and softening or distortion whilst whale watching and at a recent night time rugby game. The eye relief is marginally on the short side for use while wearing sunglasses or spectacles but the trade off in this aspect is always field of view, which in this case is excellent for a 9X mid-size set.The ‘extras’ like carry bag, lens caps and neck straps are great and the included harness is a serious bonus for hunters.I’m sure there are more experienced folk out there who could nit-pick a few aspects of these in comparison to the Swarovskis and Steiners etc. but for the price, you can’t go wrong with these Celestrons.

12×50 HD binoculars are a tough price point. I bought these for $250 refurbished. I haven’t tested them much but the glass seems good, the front rubber pieces system seems hokey, with them plugging into rubber piece built into armor of shell and definitely won’t stay on unless you superglue them. At the price-point I paid I would give a thumbs up, but at full retail I would also check out a few other brands on the 12×50 hd binocular market.before purchasing these.

I wanted to purchase a 10 x 50 binocular but didn’t want to break the bank. I was at a bird festival where there where many vendors including Zeiss, Swarovski and Leica. I looked through everyone and couldn’t believe how competitive these where at literally a fraction of the cost as most others, plus a life time warranty! Clarity brightness and great FOV for the magnification. I took them out into the field to a sea watch and was blown away! Check these out if you want a quality binocular for a great price.

Excellent product, excellent support. After much shopping around and review reading I took the plunge on theses bino’s for use on weekly birding trips, and also wildlife holidays. They have been through the rainforest of Vancouver, and the hot dusty Brazilian Cantonal. They are excellent, and for the price, incredible value for money. Bright , clear images, with minimal distortion, and light weight for quality 10×42’s with ED glass. The magnesium body also makes them durable, and all focussing / adjustments are delivered with well built components. There will I am sure be those who feel for an additional £1300 there are binoculars with a slightly better performance……… I am not prepared to pay 5 times as much in order to flash a badge! After 2 years, I noticed the dioptre adjuster was loosing grip, and making focus less sharp. I packaged them up , and after a telephone call sent them off to Celestron Global, the agents in the UK. Within 4 days I have a new pair , courier delivered to my home. Enough said. Please note, model 71372 IS the ED glass, magnesium model, the same as is also listed separately on Amazon at an additional £100+. Im not sure why..

I reviewed a range of safari binoculars and finally opted for these. They turned out to be extremely useful, not to mention popular with everyone in the land cruiser. I think the pair I got from Amazon were returns because they were around £60 cheaper than normal, but they were still amazing. The field of view make these extremely good for tracking animals at a distance, and the optics provided a very clear and bright image. They also have a neck strap as well as a harness which was useful for holding the binoculars steady when the vehicle was in motion. Definitely worth considering if you want a reasonably compact and versatile pair of binoculars for a safari.

Superb binoculars. Bought them to replace very old bins as I visit Kenya on Safari regularly. Found them to be perfect for animal watching. Only moan is the lens covers which are hard to get to stay on and also fell off at awkward moments, hence only four stars.

I normally don’t like Celestron binoculars very much but the granite is a real exception. This 7×33 is a binoculars in the range for which others take much more. Good optic, robust and handy as well as easy to use. My first one had a quality problem but was quickly replaced. With this binoculars Celestron is among the top.

These are such good binoculars and I realise now why I could never seems to track birds in the air – my binoculars had no depth of field! The Celestron are wonderful, the depth of field and wide angle is brilliant and there is so much light coming through them.

Crystal clear vision, bought for safari and birding use, the best of our binos, rated over Nikon and Olympus, highly recommended

Returned, but that’s not because of the product, In fact their optical quality was very impressive. It was not what I was looking. Return and refund was handled fantastically.
